Description
Colace Stool Softener contains a medication called docusate sodium. This is what is known as a stool softener. When the stool becomes softer it makes it easier to pass, reducing discomfort and alleviating the need to strain during bowel movements.
Colace Stool Softener helps you produce a bowel movement within 12 to 72 hours. It is a safe, comfortable, and effective way to improve the frequency of bowel movements.
Indication:

- Available for adults and children.
Direction:
Colace Syrup generally produces bowel movements in one to three days. The syrup should be mixed with 120 mL of milk or fruit juice.
- Adults and Children Age 12+: Take 20 mL one to two times a day with half a glass of milk or juice until bowel movements are normal. Do not take more than 120 mL.
- Children 6-11 years: Take 15 mL one to two times per day with a half glass of milk or fruit juice, until bowel movements are normal. Do not take more than 37.5 mL.

Warnings:
- Do not use: if you have abdominal pain, nausea, fever, or vomiting; with other medicines or if you are presently taking mineral oil; if you are on a low salt diet; for longer than 7 days.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that has lasted longer than 2 weeks or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- When using this product, frequent or prolonged use may result in dependence on laxatives; may take up to 3 days for you to have a bowel movement.
- Stop use and ask a doctor if rectal bleeding occurs, symptoms persist, or last for more than 7 days.

- Keep out of reach of children. In case of an overdose, get medical help right away, even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.
